With a Little Luck

Somehow, all of our lifelong belongings fit into the moving truck last month within the span of three hours-all of which was made possible with the marvelous help and willing hearts of several good friends from our church. It was both strange and eerie to see the shell of where we had lived the past few years, where we had gone from 'just the two of us' to now almost three and a quarter.

As I sat on the floor among the dust bunnies, I was physically exhausted from the toil and strain of packing a whole apartment into boxes and then into a truck, but I was also mentally elated at the possibilities and the hope for what lay ahead. After cleaning and scouring as best as I could, I did one last walk through of all the rooms to make sure nothing was left untidied or unpacked. Perched on the top of our bedroom door frame, a lady bug had settled in for a rest-seemingly at home in the wide open spaces of our now vacant apartment.

I smiled, feeling like someone was giving me a sign wishing me luck on the newest chapter of our lives. Thus we find ourselves, feeling lucky and adoring all of the new places and things we have yet to explore and discover- reveling in the newness of it all. We hope you'll come along with us and share in all of our adventures as we 'wing it' in this new city!

Super cute blog! Glad too see you back in the digital world. I was thinking about your empty apartment yesterday, and how weird it would be to see it void of the Majoues. I thought to myself, "If I go and knock on that door, Lexi won't answer it." It made me sad.
