Eventually, they went without us {insert sad face here} and reported that is was absolutely delicious. The really silly part of the whole thing is that we never ended up going WHILE we lived in New Orleans. It took us coming back to VISIT to try it. ;-)
When we walked in, we weren't prepared for all of the different kinds of deliciousness there was. It was literally like being a kid in a candy store-- I wanted one of everything! Here, Troy is paying for our gelato.
Do you see that smile on his face? I tell you, there is something about being in a small old fashioned treat shop that makes you feel young at heart again!
Chloe and I shared the rum raisin and Troy and Peyton devoured the amaretto. Chloe is definitely a Mama's girl- she loves anything cold and tasty!
At first, Peyton didn't even want to sit and try the gelato. He was tired and cranky from walking around downtown and wasn't in the mood to cooperate. But after that first bite, he was begging Troy for bite after bite of the creamy cold gelato!
See what I mean about a small shop? It's very quaint.
Here's the gelato case. It took us several minutes of taste testing and mulling it over before we could decide! Everything looked so good.
They even have two whole cases devoted to pastries and baked goods. Thank goodness I didn't know that before we got there because I might have skipped lunch to indulge in some treats!
More tastiness!
Angelo Brocato's--100 years of tradition; and I believe it!
If you visit New Orleans, try Brocato's on Canal Street when you go. You won't like it, you'll love it. ;-)
