More Fun Than A Barrel of Monkeys

Yes, there are tantrums, teething, diaper blow-outs, spit-up, constant laundry and stop-and-go schedules to Motherhood, but there is also a silver lining to it as well. Here are some perks of being the Head Honcho:

When Halloween rolls around, you can claim dibs on all your favorite goodies.

You get to play with some pretty cool toys and no one looks at you weird for it (or at least not in front of you).

You can take that very same toy and rock out and sing with it (this only works until your kids are about seven years old; then they'll tell you to shut it).

You can dance around and be a total goon and your kids will be your biggest fans.

You no longer have to pretend to buy books for "other people's kids" so that you can read what's all the craze.

You get to watch all of the kids movies your heart desires and it's perfectly ok to sing along, recite entire parts from memory and generally laugh like a girl (oh wait, I AM a girl! :-0 )

And at the end of the day, you can have messy hair, wrinkled clothes and no make up on and your kids will STILL love you.

so true, my friend! I just realized that sometimes I feel so old because i'm married with kids, but the truth is, if I let them, my kids will be the ones who keep me young! Thanks for that thought. And I L.O.V.E love that last picture of you. You look honest and beautiful.

So I realized at 10:43pm that we had a Skype date that I missed. I'm SO SORRY. My days are sorta blurring together because Jared took Monday off work and is working tomorrow. Without a school, work, or a calendar, I get confused! Maybe I should get out more? ;) I should get your number and we can ring each other before we Skype.

Lexi, that last picture of you that's supposed to be you, harried, tired after a long day, is a beautiful shot. I remain unconvinced.

I agree. Bad attempt to make us believe you don't have it together. I look worse than that on my best days! ;)

Um, your hair is ubber cute in that pic, so I think you are referring to a different day :)

Oh...and I am very, very, very sad to report, but the singing to your hearts content...it can get axed as early as FIVE! Or...maybe that is just me and my voice :)

And just wait until Peyton gets into LEGOS...it's like a whole hobby for the whole family.

You look great, Lexi. Your kids will love seeing those pictures of you when you're older. Kids are a lot of work, but you're right, they keep you young. And just think, when we're really old, we'll have grandkids to bring the youth back again and we can send them home with their parents!!
