Monkey See, Monkey Want

We keep a fruit bowl on our kitchen counter filled with all kinds of nature's treats: Grapes, Apples, Oranges and Bananas. I've found myself 'sneaking' away to eat the bananas before Peyton notices- sometimes devouring them in the closet or when he's taking a nap because if left unchecked, this kid would seriously eat a whole cluster in one day.

Sometimes I'm not quick enough at eating my spoils in the morning as I'll suddenly hear "Nana! Nana! NANA! NAAAAANAAAA!" from beyond the baby gate. And then of course, I have to give in. This has led to some bowel issues for the little guy sometimes stopping up the tracks {if you know what I mean} and then I really have to watch it so he won't be tempted by his numero uno fruit until he's back on track again.

You should hear the glee in his voice at the grocery store to see a whole table of 'Nana's". He just about tries to leap in the cart after them when I put a bunch in and I have to laugh as he sings 'Nana' over and over again. He also recognizes apples too, but his favorite is definitely the banana for sure. So if you come and visit me at my apartment and you catch me eating a banana secretly in the pantry you'll know it's not because I'm hoarding them all to myself- it's to keep Mr. Cheese from eating TOO MANY!

P.S. Still no picture uploading capability on our end. We have asked Dell to send us some disks so we can reinstall some of the drivers and see if that restores both our sound and the ability to print/upload things onto the computer. We've got our fingers crossed!

That sounds just like my two. They freak out if I forget the bananas at the store, and they'll eat an entire bunch in one sitting. They must be part monkey. Of course they do the same thing with grapes - they literally ate two pounds of grapes in ten minutes flat (and I didn't get any!)

I am currently eating a "b-nana", too. It's the only time I get to eat an entire one...when Jack is fast asleep and doesn't hear that "snap" as it is opened.

Isn't it great when your kid would rather have a "nana" as a treat than a bag of candy?! It is a frequent occasion that we will leave the grocery store with 1 "nana" because Jordyn has made sure that she was a good girl and got her treat. (usually we only get one because we already have a bunch at home).

I don't want to hear any more excuses about your computer.
