So we'll be packing up soon, not to move into our new home in Rowlett, but to our 'new-to-us-home' in Louisiana. We found a really good deal on a house that we just couldn't pass up. It's a little on the small side, but it's a sacrifice we're willing to take so that we can be near family and friends again. There are a lot of kids Peyton's age in the neighborhood and he can walk to school as long as he promises to wear a helmet and a bullet proof vest {I'm only kidding...mildly}.
Did I mention that the house is in the Lower Ninth Ward? I know it hasn't had the best reputation in the past, but it's in a great location and is close to everything. Our 'new' house flooded in Katrina, but what house in New Orleans didn't get a little water? Our real estate agent says that you can barely smell the mold and mildew anymore... it's the roaches and humidity {as always} that you have to worry about. Good thing we have experience with those things!
Here's a picture!

Isn't it a sweet little shotgun cottage? I can't wait to move in!
Wish us luck with everything! I'm sure Peyton and Chloe will always be grateful that we moved back to all of the endless opportunites for growth in the heart of New Orleans. They'll be thanking us... one of these days! ;-)
Oh, and Happy April Fools Day!

I didn't fall for that for one second, only because I was reminded of this glorious holiday with TOILET PAPER all over our front yard this morning. I'll be posting about it, don't worry.
Not funny McGee!!!!
You had me going for a millisecond. I am glad, so glad, that you are stickin' around these here parts!
I was feeling sad that you were homesick, then I remembered the date, and kept reading :) I have to say that since y'all aren't going to be buying that beauty in the ninth ward, we might have to make an offer on it. It looks like it even has a little garage or workshop in the back.
hahaha. Now what if I really lived in the nineth ward? Would you come and visit?
Ninth Ward? A girl can dream, right.
And, very good April Fools joke...I figured it out pretty quickly (though I felt really sad at first that you are not happy) since Brennan had been trying his hardest to trick us all morning and I read this soon after dropping him off at school.
Ha ha. April fools. And I'm pregnant.
it took me 2 paragraphs to figure it out. Well, actually after 2 paragraphs I panicked and scrolled all the way to the bottom of the post to see WHY you would do that to yourselves and then saw the april fools day comment. whew...scary joke.
