But here's some proof that we aren't always blood craving, meat eating carnivores:
Feast your eyes on that 'rise-and-shine-breakfast' Bruce! :-)
This smoothie recipe was passed on to me by my friend Kristel one morning at her place before we headed to the park with her darling girls to watch the birds and turtles swim about their private sanctuary. I was a bit skeptical at first {spinach?!} but I drank it {and thankfully survived... just kidding Kristel!} and Troy and I have enjoyed it many mornings since.
We've gradually tweaked it over the months and made it our own, but it's still as delicious as ever. I start out with a whole banana, a cup of orange juice, an individual container of yogurt, two heaping handfuls of baby spinach {Kristel uses kale too, but we've only ever used spinach}, 2 tablespoons of ground flax seed meal and one heaping cup of frozen berries {we like to use half a cup of mixed berries like raspberries, blueberries and blackberries then another half cup with mango, pineapple and strawberries}. If you like it extra cold and frothy, you could add a handful of ice too.
Blend it up and pour it into a glass then drink up! Easy, quick, great for you and no baby animals are harmed during the making of it! :-)
We do occasionally make meat-free meals here to take a break and let our systems rest but I don't think I could ever go cold turkey {ha, ha!} and cut out meat altogether. I just enjoy it too much.
Plus, I grew up in a house where my Dad went hunting in the Alaskan wilderness and we would sometimes eat meat {like reindeer, caribou and moose} that he brought home {when it didn't taste too gamey- a common concern of my Mom}. So I've basically been programmed to eat meat since I was old enough to ingest it!
But never fear Bruce- if you come to visit, we won't serve you dead animals since I make plenty of tasty dishes that don't include meat.
But I do make some mean Southern Pulled Pork sandwiches. I mean, I'm just sayin'... in case you ever want to come back over to the dark side ;-)

I guess I just don't know what to say after that kind of verbal and psychological abuse except that remember, I've never made any judgemental references. But, gee, that poor little lamb!
Your blender drink looks good, but maybe a handful of fair trade coffee beans would help!
I just started making a smoothie with spinach a few weeks ago...It's only bananas and spinach and juice, but I am going to add yogurt next time...BUT...our blender broke so I need to remember to buy a new one and THEN buy the yogurt (not the other way around which I did do the other day)
I ♥ meat, too, but I am fine with a meat free meal, too...though I've never had tofu or No Dogs or whatever
I'll have to try it. It looks delicious! I'm skeptical about the spinach though. ;)
We love those smoothies. In fact, I just bought another bag of frozen strawberries today from Sam's to replenish the smoothie supply:)
That smoothie does look good. Pulled pork sounds so good, too. My mouth is watering.
