Our server came by with a free ice cream sundae for the little guy and he was as happy as a clam! He had been antsy right up until the food came out but the instant he had pizza to nibble on and ice cream to follow it up with, he was super quiet and focused on eating every bite offered him.
After he went to bed full and happy, we stayed up and put together my Uncle Bruce and Aunt Chris's birthday gift to him: a new tricycle!
This trike is no joke- it has some serious tires since it is an 'all terrain tricycle'! We had it all set up and ready to go in the living room with a red bow on it. It didn't take long for him to find it in the morning and he giggled when he saw it. Once he found it, there was no getting him off of it! :-)
Uncle Bruce and Aunt Chris even made sure that there was a bike horn since it wouldn't be the same without it! Peyton had to test the horn about a hundred times to make sure it was in good working order. It worked every time!
Once we got Peyton situated playing with his new trike, we set about getting ready for his breakfast bash. We hung up the banner and decorated the table with flowers and cupcakes, made up some good eats for breakfast and set the table so we could all dig in!
Everything turned out super yummy- even the kids were quietly eating at Peyton's new table from Ikea {his present from Mom and Dad}.
I wanted to show a close up of the flowers- I lucked out and found a great arrangement at the grocery store, bought some extra spider mums to make the arrangement fuller then split it between two small flower pots. To tie it in with the colors of the banner, I took a page from Jeni's notebook {when she did her sister Stephanie's wedding, she used maribu feathers in the table arrangements} so I tucked in orange feathers, tied orange and turquoise ribbon around the base and they turned out really cute!
Shelby bought Peyton a ginormous bag that was almost as big as he is! We thought he'd be excited to see Elmo on the bag, but it didn't phase him much....until-
He opened it and saw an Elmo building set that had Elmo Lego's inside. Then he was super elated and said, "Elmo!" about ten times in a row :-)
Of course, he also got a card from his best old pal Calyn and his Grandma too. His other Grandparents, Mimzy and Sir Grandpa are sending a surprise in the mail so be on the look out for more pictures of a happy boy!
A birthday wouldn't be complete without cake, right?! Peyton demolished this cupcake in about two seconds flat which was an improvement on last year where he only wanted to massage it and not eat it. Peyton already has the right idea- take off the frosting cap and leave the stump behind! Thank you to all of our family and friends for making Peyton's 2nd birthday a very happy one!

We had such a good time celebrating his birthday! Everything was delicious! I hope Peyton is having a great (real) birthday today, and he isn't traumatized from all of Shelby's bullying!
What a cute little party. I love that banner and can't wait to order an EASTER one for my house.
Happy Birthday Peyton! My baby Gage turns 2 tomorrow. Please tell Troy I said hello. I am glad that you guys are doing well in Texas.
