Top of the Mornin', Afternoon or Evenin' to Ye!

There are little green buds on the trees outside my window and tender new blades of grass are resurfacing here after a cool winter rest. Is it no wonder that we celebrate St. Patrick's Day with all of it's joviality and propensity for all things green right around the time that winter sloughs off and spring begins?

I am seeing a lot of 'new life' this year- budding trees, blossoming flowers, a fresh start in our first home and of course, a precious newborn babe that we will welcome in May or June. So many new beginnings, so many reasons to be grateful.

This move has been the best all around for our family, but it has also brought a share of melancholy moments as well. It is hard to re-root, and harder yet to make friends in a place that is only temporary. I think others around us think the same thing, that it is probably not worthwhile to get to know us since we are {after all} moving in a few short months.

When times seem a little down, I try to take my mind off of being the new girl in town by reading and catching up with what all of my friends scattered across the country are doing. Your blog entries and comments on my own blog are what sustains me when my heart just isn't into being a social butterfly here on my own turf.

Sometimes I wonder who is reading all of these musings so I've decided to have a delurk day which in blog land means that you come out and introduce yourself through a comment on this post. Maybe you are green yourself to this whole blogging thing and you are just dipping your toes in before inevitably diving in and starting your own blog adventures. Many of you I know are good friends or family- but perhaps some of you in the past have chosen not to comment for whatever reason.

So come out, come out wherever you are {and whoever you are!} and come to the surface. Let me know why you read and tune in. If I don't know you, introduce yourself. Tell me something that uplifts you when you're feeling the winter blues.

You just might be in for a prize!

Are you feeling a wee bit lucky yet? I will put all of the comments from this give-a-way into a random drawing and I will choose a winner Wednesday morning {that's March 11th}.

Someone is in for a treat!

So leave {one} comment and make my day today and maybe I'll make yours in return!

Love to you all.

Hi. You don't know me.

I'm 5'7", long blonde hair and wear size two clothes. I wear nothing but designer labels and look fabulous 24 hours a day.

Maybe we can meet in person next month when me and my husband come to Dallas for business:)

Oh, Jeni is a lot like me, I'm 5'7", wear size two clothes and JUST had a BABY! I am HOT!
Or...You know me, soon I will have a webcam with stuff I can post online and you will see how DUMPY I usually look.
I love to read your blog because you are very poetic in your writing. It pulls me and and keeps my interest until the end, where you gently release me back into reality.
And GREEN...the daffodils are peeking their heads through the cold, frozen ground. I hope the snow last week did not injure them. I will be so sad.
And I hate it when people read and read and read your blog and NEVER EVER EVER comment. Really, it only takes five seconds and makes ME SMILE!!!!

Okay, I'm definitely not 5'7" or a size two (expecting number 3 has seriously cramped my weight loss plan) but I do love reading your blog. I really do like the way you take the everyday things and make them sound so extraordinary and interesting - great writing!

It would help if I put the name of the movie...The Haunting in Connecticut.

I'd have to agree with the above comment (not the 5'7", size 2 part...lol) about people reading your blog and NEVER commenting. Gotta say sometimes it gets a little annoying. I try to be good at commenting (of course not anyone can comment ALL the time), so it kind of bugs when others don't do the same. :( Oh well!! Either way, tell me to comment for a prize and I'll definitely leave a comment!! LOL I definitely do love your blog, though!

My name is Lauren and I'm a blog stalker. I admit it. I like to read everyone's blogs. I'm friends with Cathi, and see your blog on her site sometimes, so I check it out. I'm really into watching your house get built now. Salivating... I'm glad you had this day, because I felt weird asking before, not knowing you, but where did you get that trampoline thing for your little one? It's something I want for my own kids!

As for something that uplifts me: smoothies, good books and bubble baths, Netflix, and tax refunds. And a good pedicure.

I'm still waiting for my prize for suggesting the creepiest Halloween movie! Erin go bragh!

Hey it's me. I'm the one that tries to comment on every post, but I don't always succeed. For example, Ayden is tearing the bobby pin out of my hair and asking some classic "why" questions which I'm ignoring because I'm busy typing. Isn't that what blogging is all about. Oh, and I've met Jeni. She is super hot. Watch out world.

This feels like an on-line AA meeting: "Hi, I'm Heather, and I'm addicted to Lexi's blog." :)

I read your blog because you're one of my favorite people in the world. I will always love you--for loving my kids when I wasn't at home (or when I was home, but holed up in my office), but also for being my friend.

Ok, I am 5' 7" and blonde but I can not lay claim to being a size 2 - As IF! ;-)
Send your prize to someone else as it is too difficult to send to Indonesia. LOL
If anyone is looking for another new blog, you can visit Lexi's Mom's site at stonestreetclan.blogspot.com
(Sorry Lexi for stealing your comment space to further my own blog space :-0 )
Ok, who do we tag next?
Love you LOTS!!!

I love reading your blog, seeing what your cute family is doing, and reading about all the fun Shelby and Peyton are having together. It makes me wish that Houston and Dallas were a bit closer so Jordyn could come play too!

Jessica said...

Oh, guys...I am really a size 10/12...and bought a size 14 skirt the other day that I plan on ripping the tag out of...Jeni might really be a size 2, though...she is HOT!

I was thinking just this morning (at 3:30am as usual)how I really got to know you with the blog. I mean, I knew you back in 4th ward days, but not as much as I would have liked. Through this blog, I feel like I can talk with my friend. I feel like I get to see your every-day-thoughts and share a bit of your journeys. You know, blogging for me took flight when I moved to San Antonio. It was my life line to my friends and when i'd start to get the melancholies too, I'd go read a few blogs to help me through. Hey! That rhymes! Love you Lexi.

Lexi, this is Sam, Troy's law school-atty pal. I totally lurk your blog (but I admitted that to Troy Sunday when he called, lol). Love your blog, your writings, and you amaze me with all your creativity and such. Not sure how you do it all - Supermom! ;)

Oh, what really uplifts my spirits is spending time w/my mom. She's my best friend.

Keep blogging! I love stopping by. And sorry for being such a "blog troll" lol. I'll try to comment when I come by!
